Visit to DIEM (Aarhus) and the The Royal Danish Academy of Music

This month I am excited to be a visiting artist at the Danish Institute of Electronic Music in Aarhus (DIEM) as well as the The Royal Danish Academy of Music.

I will be performing a concert on Oct. 25th of various live electronics at Musikhuset Aarhus as well as a few lectures on algorithmic music on the 23rd and 25th.

Oct 25th Topic: “Algorithmic Hallucination”

A case study and discussion of a new generative work ruminating on place, memory, and the expressive possibilities of algorithms as the work slowly struggles to reproduce the melody to Neil Diamond’s “Forever in Blue Jeans.” I will discuss my recent use of generative algorithms and web-audio along with a discussion on our own hallucinatory experience of dealing with the results of algorithmically generated music. This is in preparation of the new work to be release on CareOf Editions.
